When anyone throws the “Global Citizen” expression around, they are undoubtedly referring to individuals such as Darren. For Darren, life started in England but quickly moved through to just about every continent having lived in Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe, El Salvador and the United States, just to name a few – you’d be amazed at how long the list goes. With such an international lifestyle from a young age, Darren naturally opted for a degree in international business, and has since been involved in a panoply of business endeavors from tourism-related businesses to extreme sports ventures.

Darren lives for anything adventurous, travel or sports related with daring such as mountain biking, piloting his own aircraft or even race car driving! Already an impressive collection of luxury vacation estates in hand, Darren always eyed the Riviera Maya as an ideal destination to dive into and expand his portfolio. “The ease of access into the Cancun Airport from both North and South America as well as Europe coupled with the hundreds of miles of powdery white sandy beaches gives this area infinite growth possibilities”, he says. It is exactly during one of his visits to the area, while looking for villas to possibly purchase, that he met Maya Luxe’s Founder – Steph Farr – with whom he instantly connected on a business level, both sharing the same passions and ethos. Together with Steph, Darren wants to help others experience what our beautiful planet has to offer, and give back to the local indigenous groups that have preserved such beauty and local traditions.
