Palacio de Mar

My friends and I celebrated our 50th Birthdays and our 25th year of going on our annual Girl’s Weekend together. Maya Luce and Palacio de Mar made it an absolutely perfect, long weekend!  We would go back every single year it was that amazing!

Nestor the Chef and his team in the kitchen (Gabby and Eduardo) were absolutely fabulous. We loved them--they were attentive and kind and thoughtful, and their food and service were delicious and impeccable. (Our grandchildren wrote special thank you notes to them all at the end of the week!) Freddie, Dennis, Julio and Alexis, our house team, were also great. They went above and beyond in their service. When one of our party was stung by a sting ray, Dennis jumped in the car with her and took her for a tetanus shot. The turnover in our concierge service was the most frustrating part of our experience--we had three different women guiding us through the preparation and stay, and there were time gaps between their communication (one left, and it took a few weeks before the next one contacted us--then we were switched over the actual host, who had to deal with plans she hadn't made but had been given by the second concierge). So we were left with major gaps in our understanding, and various plans did not go as smoothly as the should have. This was not the fault of the concierges--and especially Olga, our host, did the best with what she was given. But all that lack of solid information and continuity really put a damper on the first few days of our trip.

We really enjoyed celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary at Palacio de Mar. We renewed our wedding vows with our children and grandchildren there. Diana was excellent at arranging all we needed from flowers and an officiant, to twinkle lights and a cake. We could not ask for anything more. Maybe I'll splurge for the fireworks on our 50th anniversary Diana :) The villa was a tremendous place for 10 of us. Lots of room to spread out when we wanted to and plenty of room to gather together. So spacious, there were parts we didn't use while we were there. Our chefs, Gaspar and Santi, were so fun and became a part of the family. Mariana was an excellent host, always attentive to our needs. The staff at the villa was exceptional - Denis, Freddy and the whole crew were always around and never intrusive. Thanks for washing all the beach towels we went through! We do wish the pool were heated. Kinda chilly for January. But thanks for getting the hot tub installed during our stay! We let Maya Luxe schedule a private trip to Chichen Itza which was a great choice. Top notch all around and we very much enjoyed being all together and having a private tour guide who was a joy to be around. Placio de Mar gave us just what we wanted - our own space to be together as a family while not worrying about the day-to-day tasks. A great place we'd love to return to.

Our chef Hebron was fabulous and made a memorable birthday celebration dinner for my dad. Family loved the covered lanai and eating outside.

This house is one of a kind. It may not be everyone’s taste, but we loved it.

Our experience with Maya Luxe from start to finish was superb! From our booking agent to our curator to our on-site host- each person helped answer any questions we had every step of the way! The villa itself was incredible Our chefs prepared the most delicious meals - went above and beyond to ensure we had something to appeal to the different palates within our group! One notable mention is that it would have been nice to know the hot tub wasn’t working at our property prior to arriving.

We were in the Cancun area at the beginning of January, 2025, to celebrate a 5-yr vow renewal for our daughter and son-in-law who had to cancel their formal "white wedding" plans twice due to COVID restrictions in the state of WA. Both our immediate families (12 adults and 3 children under age 5) were there and everyone had an incredible overall experience. It started out a bit bumpy because the car seats we were promised for the children were not in the vehicles for pickup from the airport, but the problem was resolved and we at least had booster seats available for the departure vehicles. From there on though, we had a lovely experience. The villa and staff at Palacio de Mar were amazing and catered to all of our needs, and the layout of the house is perfect for privacy and our needs to have children with their parents. We utilized the pool, but weren't able to stay in very long because it is unheated and was colder than the ocean. A heads up that the jacuzzi on the top deck has no water in it and we were told that it would have to be hand filled by carrying buckets of water to the top deck, which would rapidly cool before it could ever be filled, so we never got to use it. This was rather disappointing, but we used the kayaks and paddle board, and enjoyed being right on the beach to play games we had brought with us. The location is absolutely perfect, as is the layout of the house and most of the amenities. And kudos to our chef Nestor and his assistant, Yesica, who were outstanding and very accommodating to our schedule, grocery needs and meal requests for both the adults and children. Every meal was delicious. Fredy and Denis, who are in charge of making sure everything at the property is running smoothly and in order, were there for whatever we needed and immediately fixed a few items that needed attention. Our curator arranged for massages at the house, and the ladies were all very professional, well trained and timely. The only excursion we chose was swimming with the turtles and the cave snorkeling, and our group of 8 was gone for about 9 hours. There is only about 45 minutes of actual water time, and the rest was spent traveling to/fro and stopping at 2 different restaurant/bars. The group enjoyed the trip, but wished the snorkeling time was longer, and felt that the second restaurant could have been skipped. We also hired a photographer for the vow renewal, with our curator's help. The 2 gentlemen did an outstanding job of photographing our daughter and her husband from preparation to the actual private beach ceremony, to group photos of everyone as the sun was setting. And the amazing pictures were edited and sent to us 2 days later!! Overall, our families had an incredible vacation and I will definitely be utilizing Maya Luxe in the future for another Mexico family vacation! One of our guests posted that it was the best vacation she had every been on. We have already recommended Maya Luxe and the property we rented to two other friends.

This has been the most enjoyable vacation I've ever been on. Our friend group wanted to go on vacation together and MayaLuxe gave us everything we didn't know we needed. The staff was amazing! Freddy, Dennis, Chef Olan and his staff treated us like royalty. The home allowed for 6 couples to stay comfortably and their was plenty to do. Paulina (host) assisted with dinner reservations, planned group activities, tequila tastings onsite and mariachi band for our Cinco d' mayo party. Chef Olan was nothing short of amazing! We were welcomed in with refreshments and drinks as we checked in and his staff was so attentive. Each morning we came downstairs breakfast was already started and mimosa's were ready to be poured! Truly an enjoyable experience that our group will not forget. Thank you MayaLuxe team for a great experience.

We absolutely loved our stay at Palacio De Mar in Puerto Morales. The entire team from Isabel my initial contact/reservation specialist, to Coral my planner, to Raul my house contact, Freddie property manager, Dennis and Julio- on site maintenance, housekeepers, and our incredible chef Arielle and assistant Amalia were absolutely incredible!! This team made our stay in Puerto Morales unforgettable!! The food the chef and assistant prepared was the best we have ever had and everyone was so friendly and helpful. Dennis and Julio went above and beyond to make us feel at home and tended to anything we needed. The entire team was incredible, communicated well with us, were so helpful, and fun to be with. We felt very welcomed and taken care of from our very first reservation/inquiry about the house to the moment we left. We will definitely be using Maya Luxe in the future! Thank you for everything!
