We will leave Playa Del Carmen at about 8am to reach the port of Chiquilá, which is about 2 hours away. After a delicious breakfast consisting of homemade empanadas, we will take a small private fishing boat to reach Holbox, Isla Passion, and the Bird Island. Preserved and in the heart of the wild, these 3 islands are located on the north of the peninsula.
First, we’ll stop at Isla Passion, where we’ll walk around the island and enjoy a natural scrub. If we are lucky we’ll see flamingos on Bird Island across the sea. Next stop is Holbox, where we’ll roam its little sandy and colourful streets by golf cart. Then we will go to a beach club and relax in the hammocks or on the white sandy beach. We will enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant, C’est la vie, which offers a succulent menu of fish, chicken, pasta or vegetarian meals with wine and many other beverages to choose from. From there we will take the boat in direction of the Yala Hau Cenote and here you can climb the mirador, or observation tower, with its splendid view of the jungle and observe the birds. This is truly a breathtaking sight! To end the day, we will pay tribute to the ceiba, the sacred tree of life for the Maya (more than 700,000 years old).
We’ll arrive back to Playa Del Carmen at approximately 7pm.
