Maya Luxe’s principal priority is the health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, team members and partners. We are closely monitoring information regarding coronavirus (Covid-19) and following the guidance of the health and travel authorities here in Mexico, and internationally.
We recognise that this is an unsettling time for all as the situation continues to develop. Our promise is to do as much as we can to help our guests, with more specifics below:
On January 12th, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a new policy requiring all air travelers to the U.S. to present a negative Covid-19 test – PCR or antigen test – before boarding their flight. The test must be taken no more than three days before entering the U.S. and will be mandatory for all passengers starting on January 26th, 2021.
Similarly, as of January 8th, 2021, England now requires all international arrivals, including UK nationals, required to present a negative COVID-19 test – also PCR or antigen – taken up to 72 hours prior to departure.
Please keep in mind other countries may have similar travel requirements in place. We highly recommend you to check your country’s travel advisory website regularly to stay updated on changing policies.
To help you return home worry-free, Maya Luxe is working to ensure all guests can get a PCR or antigen test in the comfort of their villa. We have a doctor on call who will carry out the tests on-site.
Results for PCR tests will be delivered in 24 to 48 hours, while results for antigen tests will typically be ready in under one hour. The price of the in-villa PCR test is $180 USD per person. The price of the in-villa antigen test is $65 USD per person.
|Viral Test||Results In||Price||In-Villa|
|Antigen (Nasal Swab)||45 to 60 minutes||$65 USD per person||Yes|
|PCR (Nasal & Throat Swab)||24 to 48 hours||$180 USD per person||Yes|
Viral Test (Nasal Swab): PCR
Results In: 24 to 48 hours
Price: $180 USD per person
You can book a test for every member of your party ahead of time to ensure availability. If you’re already at the villa and would like to book a PCR test, please contact your Experience Host.
For more information on testing, check out our Covid-19 Testing FAQ page.
We will continue to operate to ensure that those customers who still wish to travel can do so, where travel restrictions allow and in line with guidance from health authorities. Mexico is currently flagged with a travel warning, but note that this can change at any moment.
It is still our goal to help you enjoy your own, private piece of paradise here in the Riviera Maya. We are putting all health and safety precautions in place with our on-site team, by increasing our villa cleaning and sanitation procedures and our face to face interactions between staff and guests, ensuring that cleanliness is at its peak. However, please be aware that it is ultimately your responsibility to follow all necessary precautions during your travel and stay.
We urge you to monitor our policies on a daily basis before your travel dates, as our policies are subject to change. The situation may shift depending on the guidance of the health and travel authorities.
For all new and existing reservations affected by a travel ban or border closures linked to Covid-19, Maya Luxe will offer a date change within 12 months of your originally scheduled travel at no cost.
If rates for your new booking are higher, you’ll need to cover the difference. However, by waiving the change fee, we want to ensure you have more flexibility to amend your travel plans.
Please call or email for all new bookings:
For all new reservations, Maya Luxe is offering a full refund of all monies paid if canceled more than 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. If cancellations occur 30 days or less prior to arrival date, all funds paid are non-refundable. For existing reservations, please refer to your rental agreement or reach out to your villa specialist.
We advise all guests who booked with third-party partners to check with the respective company’s updates and policies.
Whether you’re at home or traveling, the WHO recommends practicing good hygiene to protect yourself against infection – by washing your hands frequently with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer, maintaining distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing, and avoiding touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you become sick, please seek medical attention quickly.
Lastly, to everyone out there, look after yourself, stay active (especially if you’re stuck at home), read a book, learn a new skill, help a neighbor in need, call a family member or friend who is home alone and keep the good vibes going.
Stay safe, stay clean and stay positive.
